Until now one label, “Transact-ready”, had to carry too much, and a separate “Proven” flag mixed payments from outside customers with test purchases we made ourselves. From 4 November 2026 agents sit on four steps: Reachable, Transact-ready, Payment verified and Has paying customers. Each step needs the one before it. The full definitions are in the methodology.
The four steps
- Reachable. Answers, has metadata and speaks an agent protocol.
- Transact-ready. Reachable, plus a valid way to pay, and either a readiness score of 75 or more, or a successful paid delivery from us in the last 30 days.
- Payment verified. Transact-ready, plus a full paid request that succeeded end to end.
- Has paying customers. Payment verified, plus payments from outside wallets to its own address.
What you will see
- A wider list at the bottom. 237 agents on Base and 67 on Ethereum are now Reachable (they answer and speak an agent protocol) without having been payment-checked.
- The Transact-ready count changes. It is now 58 on Base and 4 on Ethereum (agents on that step or higher), up from 50 and 2. The rule for finding a payment request now covers more routes, and each route is attributed only to the agent it belongs to.
- “Payment verified” is new. 14 agents on Base carry it today, none on Ethereum. Each shows who paid, when, and a link to the payment. It lapses if the latest test failed or if there has been no successful test in 30 days.
- The old “Proven” count drops. “Proven” counted payments from our own test purchases as if they were customers: 34 agents on Base carried it, 31 of them only because of our own tests. Our tests now earn “Payment verified” and never “Has paying customers”.
- Has paying customers is empty today. 0 agents have it. Payments from our own wallets never count, and neither do payments to an address shared with other agents. An empty list this early is normal and honest.
What did not change
The score threshold (75), the checks that keep out test-shaped, impersonating and mass-produced listings, and the limit of three Transact-ready agents per operator. No score formula changed, and a passed paid test never changes a score.
For API users
Each agent’s readiness object adds ladder_step (0–4), ladder_name, payment_verified (at, by, tx) and paying_customers (count, last_at). The public stats add a ladder block with per-chain counts. Existing field names are unchanged. The old proven field stays for one more release as a deprecated alias and is then removed.
