A 10-stage per-chain funnel of every ERC-8004 agent registered on
Base (chain_id 8453) and Ethereum mainnet
(chain_id 1), measured on 2026-10-13. Stages flow from
Registered on-chain to Delivered after
payment: each stage is a count of agents that cleared every
preceding one.
Headline, Base: of 23,403 registered agents, 134 emit any payment field in their on-chain metadata or well-known card, 26 return a parseable 402 challenge with a payTo and a positive price, 25 publish a price in the normal range (≤ $1.00 per call), and 10 delivered a real response when we paid them in three dated test-purchase pilots on 2026-10-12 and 2026-10-13.
Headline, Ethereum: of 2,946 registered agents, 7 advertise, 2 publish a parseable price in the normal range, and 0 were paid in this measurement window — no Ethereum ERC-8004 agent cleared the cheapest-cost gate before the pilot windows closed.
Stages 1-7 are deterministic from the live profile store (every
registered agent is counted). Stages 8-10 are observed: numerators
come from the pilot evidence files
,
denominators are the number of distinct agents in today's stage-7
pool that the pilots attempted. The six Base deliveries that fall
outside today's deterministic stage-7 pool (one file-conversion seller + five
earlier-pilot agents) are counted separately as
observed_outside_pool: their deliveries are real and
dated, but the price lives on an endpoint our profile store does
not yet persist in the payment terms we record for each endpoint.
This dataset is a tracked measurement, not a methodology
change. Readiness/Trust scoring, bucket thresholds, and
the published scoring rules are unchanged by this snapshot. The
funnel is re-run daily and a new dated dataset is published when the picture changes;
new rows will land under
/data/payability-funnel-<date>/.
